RESULTS FROM THE WEB TOOL THEREFORE CANNOT BE USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR A FULLY QUALIFIED DESIGN TEAM. ALL STRUCTURAL RESULTS SHOULD BE VERIFIED BY A QUALIFIED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER TO SUIT THE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF EACH BUILDING.

Limitations

• The estimated feasible number of storeys is based on a structural load balance exercise only and does not factor other considerations such as planning constraints, rights of light, access requirements, stability etc.
• The implications of fire design are not considered in the calculations, a qualified fire engineer should be consulted on any scheme were appropriate to confirm if timber can be used
• The structural calculations, including feasibility of number of storeys and calculated embodied carbon, do not consider any additional stability structure required that may provide a more onerous limit on building height.
• The structural model does not consider any step backs in the extension façade as often required by planning constraints.
