At the end of 2021, Opendevelopment became the owner of the former Prins Willem Alexander barracks in Gouda Noord. Since then, Opendevelopment has been in discussions with the neighborhood, the municipality, and other stakeholders about transforming the area into an attractive living environment with approximately 220 homes for various target groups, a health center, and a community room. The former bunker will be preserved. At the beginning of 2022, Opendevelopment signed an Intent Agreement with the municipality for the transformation. The Anterior Agreement was signed in September 2023, and the new zoning plan will be available for inspection at the end of 2023. Opendevelopment is looking forward to the next phase, where plans will be developed to create a beautiful new green residential area in Gouda Noord.
